It All started with a memory

Art can be inspired by experiences in our past. An idea for a recent lino print harks back to Nicky’s days as a fisherman in Scotland and memories of braving the elements all in a days work

The lino “plate” is carved with lino tools to create the details of the image

When printed the carved areas will be white (the colour of the paper) and the raised images will be the colour of the ink (in this case blue)

The ink is applied to the lino “plate” and the “plate” is put through a printing press

The entire process is repeated for each copy (edition) of the lino print

Only a limited number of lino prints are printed, hence the term “limited edition original lino prints”
